Office of the Chief of Police

The Chief of Police is responsible for overseeing the safety of the community and enforcing the laws of Alabama. It is the Chief’s responsibility to ensure the officer and investigators of the Weaver Police Department are properly trained and prepared to respond to any type of situation that may arise. The chief is also responsible for issuing policy and procedures and to ensure that officers follow them accordingly. The chief is also required to submit yearly operating budget reports and requests for additional funding, if needed. The chief also attends each of the city council meetings to provide any information needed by the Mayor or Council.

In the City of Weaver, the Chief of Police also takes on an active patrol shift each week and responds to calls for service just as every other officer does.
