Welcome to Elwell Park
Sitting on approximately 10 acres, Elwell Park is located behind Weaver City Hall and is adjacent to the Chief Ladiga Trail. Enjoy the children’s playground, water splash pad, or the activity field, or reserve one of its five (5) pavilions, complete with picnic tables and grills. There is also a lighted walking trail, skate park, basketball court, and possibly the best disc golf course around! It even has a state of the art dog park to accommodate your furry family members. Whether you are a Weaver resident or a visitor, come to Elwell Park and enjoy all of these amenities. It is always free, and everyone is welcome!
Playground
We love to see families and children playing together and enjoying the playground. Sometimes kids just need to be kids – run, play, and have fun! Bring a picnic lunch or utilize the grills that are available at the pavilions. You can also bring chairs and an umbrella and relax for a great day at the park.
Splash Pad
It gets hot in the summer months, and the splash pad is a great way to cool down. Take a break from the heat, and let the kids splash in the cool water! There are picnic tables with umbrellas to sit and relax and nice restroom facilities to get dry and change clothes. There is plenty of room for everyone, and while the splash pad is not a swimming pool, small children (accompanied by a parent) can safely cool down and have some fun.
The splash pad is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm every day from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Lighted Walking Trail
Looking for a shorter trail for walking or jogging? Elwell Park also has a lighted, gravel walking trail that winds through the beautiful pine trees. For those who prefer the cooler evenings to the heat of the summer days, this trail can be enjoyed at any hour and is another wonderful amenity of Elwell Park.
Skate Park
The skate park in Weaver is located behind the splash pad. Inaugurated in June 2007, the Weaver Skate Park was the first public skateboard park built in Calhoun County. Since its grand opening, it has been a beloved destination for skateboarders all across the region, attracting visitors of all ages and skill levels with its variety of features, including ramps, rails, and more. With its well-maintained concrete surface, the park provides an ideal setting for practicing and improving one’s skateboarding abilities, whether you are just starting out or are an experienced skater.
The Weaver Skate Park is more than just a place to skate. It is a symbol of what can be achieved when the community comes together to pursue a shared goal. The skate park was a collaborative effort between Skate Calhoun County, Anniston Morning Rotary Club, the City of Weaver, and at least 1,300 local skaters and parents all of whom worked tirelessly to bring this project to fruition. Today it stands as a testament to the power of grassroots organizing and civic engagement, and continues to inspire others to create positive change in their own communities.
So whether you’re a seasoned skateboarder or a curious newcomer, come on down to the Weaver Skate Park and experience the thrill of the ride for yourself. But always remember to put safety first and wear a helmet and protective gear while you’re testing your tricks on the ramps and rails.
