Business Licenses and Sales Tax
Each business operating any kind of business inside the city limits must obtain a business license with the City of Weaver. This license is different from the county and state licenses.

RENTAL BUSINESS LICENSES
ALL homeowners who have tenants renting a dwelling inside the city limits must obtain a rental business license (one license per address). If the property is managed by a realtor, a real estate company, or an individual, a separate business license for property management must be purchased as well.
The term “RENTING” includes…
- Renting the property for profit
- Allowing the occupant to live in the home free-of-charge
- Collecting the amount of (or part of) the monthly mortgage payment as rent
- Hiring a realtor, real estate company, or an individual to manage the property
- Bartering (or favors) of any kind, which includes allowing the occupant to live in the home while making renovations

SALES TAX
The City of Weaver does not collect sales tax at city hall. All sales tax is collected by PremaCorp. To register for an account with PremaCorp, email weaveral@hdlgov.com or call (256) 427-4816. For a complete list of tax rates or for more information on sales tax, sellers use tax, or consumers use tax, visit the State of Alabama Department of Revenue website.

Online filing is encouraged due to the decreased cost of processing and the level of convenience for the taxpayer. However, if paper filing is still more desirable to the taxpayer, new forms are available to view and print by clicking on the appropriate tax form below.
