Weaver Court
The courtroom located in Weaver City Hall is a part of the Calhoun County District Court system. The courtroom is where the Weaver City Council meets and the entrance is in the front of the building. The current Judge that presides over cases heard in the court is Judge Beth Rodgers. The Weaver Court is only for misdemeanors and traffic cases and court is normally held on Tuesday’s. The dates vary at the discretion of the presiding judge but all parties are notified with enough time to report on their assigned date and time.
The cases that are brought before the judge are all from within Weaver police jurisdiction. If a defendant is found guilty any fines, court costs, or other fees are not collected at the Weaver Courtroom or in City Hall, they are collected at the main district court in Anniston. Although the cases may be heard in the city court if a person misses their court date a bench warrant may still be issued so it is important to attend all assigned court dates.
Proper dress is required for court to be sure not to show up wearing anything inappropriate or vulgar. This is a secure building and metal detectors are utilized. Items that are prohibited are firearms, knives, chemical sprays, handcuff keys, explosive devices, any item that is deemed to be dangerous.
